The Pride of the Northwest.
Trapper Peak Forge started out as Hacienda Iron Craft, selling hand wrought iron hardware in New Mexico during the 1990's. The shop moved to Western Montana in 1994 and began to manufacture as well as distribute handmade hardware. Family members Randy and Joyce Hill and John and Cindy Merkel bought Hacienda Iron Craft in January of 2005 and renamed it Trapper Peak Forge to reflect their Montana heritage as well as the broad range of hardware styles they produce.
The Trapper Peak Series was the first new design style by the Trapper Peak Forge team after they took ownership. The rustic hand wrought style of this series gained immediate acceptance with dealers and clients.

Joyce had worked for the previous owners for over four years when the group purchased the business. By that time Joyce had established good rapport with the clients and gained a solid understanding of the process and the products. Cindy brings a strong background in accounting and is quickly learning all aspects of the manufacturing business.
Clients work directly with the owners and artists on every project. Trapper Peak Forge is a small enough company to foster close personal relationships so that no important details are lost in the communication process.
